Accepting applications starting May 1st, 2019, this $1,000 scholarship is for college and grad school students who seek to and/or are in the process of launching a new company.  Starting a business is expensive and we hope this $1,000 will help you get going.

The Entrepreneur Circle Scholarship has no strict preferences as to the nature of the applicant’s business but we are certainly interested and excited about those entrepreneurs involved in tech.

Scholarship Award

Cohn Legal, PLLC will award a $1,000 scholarship for the best-submitted essay as determined by our judges. The scholarship award will be awarded in check format, made payable directly to the university or college where the winner attends or will attend, or directly to the winner. 

Essay Topic


Part 1:

Every great entrepreneur is driven by the same intense desire to succeed and win. What motivated you to start your journey as an entrepreneur and what stokes the fire in your belly to make it a success? Discuss what being an entrepreneur means to you.

 

Part 2:

Tell us about yourself. Now tell us about your new startup – the who, what, when, and where of the business model and how you plan on making it a success.

How far along is your business? How much money have you personally invested? How much money have you raised?  Have you taken a loan? Of how much?

Finally, please discuss how you plan on using the scholarship money if you win.

Please keep your essay under 1,500 words.

 

Eligibility Requirements

Any current College/University/Grad School student enrolled in a 2-year, 4-year or graduate program during the 2019-2020 school year is eligible. The student must be enrolled, and be able to provide proof of such, at an accredited university or college. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher to apply for this scholarship.

 

Scholarship Deadline

The Entrepreneur Circle Scholarship will begin accepting applications on May 1st, 2019. All written scholarship submission materials must be received by 11:59 PM EST on September 30, 2019. The winner will be announced on November 31, 2019, and will receive a one-time award of $1,000.

**UPDATE: THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS IS NOW CLOSED. THE WINNER OF THE SCHOLARSHIP WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE LAST WEEK OF JULY 2020 AND THE WINNER WILL BE NOTIFIED BY THE SECOND WEEK OF AUGUST 2020.**

By submitting an entry to the 2019 Entrepreneur Circle Scholarship, you transfer all rights and ownership of submitted content to Cohn Legal, PLLC, regardless of whether your entry is selected as a winner. Cohn Legal, PLLC reserves the right to publish submitted work at the conclusion of the entry period in any manner Cohn Legal Group deems appropriate.

Selection of winning submission is entirely at the discretion of Cohn Legal, PLLC. Cohn Legal, PLLC will contact the winner via the email address used for submission. The winner will be confirmed ONLY after providing proof of enrollment in the form of a copy of a tuition bill, a picture of a current student ID, official or unofficial transcripts, or letter of proof from the accredited College/University/Graduate School at which the winner is enrolled. If the scholarship is not applied to by a minimum of 10 applicants by September 30th, 2019, Cohn Legal, PLLC reserves the right to extend the deadline for up to an additional 8 months.  Upon confirmation of enrollment, the winner will be publicly announced on Cohnlg.com, and Cohn Legal Group will mail a check to the College/University/Graduate School or student on behalf of the winner. In the event a winner cannot prove enrollment at a College/University/Graduate School,  a secondary winner will be chosen.
